Juelz Santana's Brother Opens Up About Arrest

'We are just looking forward to having this whole situation cleared up,' Santana's publicist says in a statement.

Juelz Santana was hauled into custody on Wednesday (February 2) on drug and weapons charges, and his brother and manager is now speaking out about the arrest.

Hours after Juelz, born LaRon James, was taken to a New Jersey prison on charges connected to a January raid on his studio, his older brother and manager, Jermaine "Twin" James, said he's optimistic that Juelz will come home by the end of the day.

"We are hopeful that my Brother will be released tonight," he said in a statement. "He is just being processed through the system right now. I posted his bail earlier today. All computers are currently down at the Prosecutor's Office." (When MTV News contacted the Bergen County Jail around 7 p.m., an officer confirmed that the MC had just arrived at the facility.) At press time, Juelz was being held on $125,000 bail.

Juelz was arrested Wednesday on drug and weapons-related charges following a January 20 raid on his Santana's World studio in New Jersey turned up two handguns, 17 bags of a "a greenish brown vegetation" presumed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The bust followed a 10-month-long investigation by authorities, who suspect the Skull Gang MC is a member of the Bloods street gang. Skull Gang associate Hynief (born Toby M. Raynor) was also arrested two weeks ago after police alleged he attempted to sell marijuana to an undercover officer twice. Hynief was later released on $50,000 bail.

"Santana was out of town at the time of Raynor's arrest. We are just looking forward to having this whole situation cleared up," Santana's publicist, Lynn Hobson, said.

The Dipset spitter has been charged with possession of a firearm and a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a handgun without having a permit, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone.
